National Youth Day 2024: Theme Viksit Bharat@ 2047
India is observing National Youth Day in commemoration of Swami Vivekananda, whose birth anniversary is on January 12. Since 1984, the country has dedicated this day to encourage young people to embody the values, principles, and beliefs that Vivekananda advocated.
As part of the National Youth Day celebrations, India hosts an annual National Youth Festival from January 12 to 16.
Swami Vivekananda, originally named Narendranath Datta, was born in Kolkata on January 12, 1863. Hailing from a prominent family in Kolkata, he made a lasting impact during his relatively short yet influential life of 39 years. Swami Vivekananda left an enduring imprint on the people of India and resonated globally with his teachings.

Endowed with a wandering spirit, Vivekananda spent approximately five years traversing the expanse of India, delving into the intricacies of its culture, religion, and society.

Disciple of Ramakrishna Paramhansa
