Vishnu Deo Sai is the new CM of Chhattisgarh
Tribal leader and former MP Vishnu Deo Sai will be the new Chief Minsiter of Chhattisgarh. His name has been approved in the BJP meeting. He will replace Bhupesh Baghel. He will be the fourth chief minister of the state and first tribal to hold the post.
Vishnu Deo Sai has served as a Member of Parliament four times, Member of the Legislative Assembly twice, Union Minister of State, and State President thrice. In addition, he possesses substantial experience working within the organization.
About Vishnu Deo Sai
1. He was born on February 21, 1964, in Bagia village of Jashpur district in the former undivided state of Madhya Pradesh.
2. He initiated his political journey in 1989 as the Panch of the Bagiya Gram Panchayat.
3. In 1990, he contested and won elections for the first time from the Tapkara Assembly constituency, becoming a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the undivided state of Madhya Pradesh.
4. Between 1999 and 2014, he secured victory in four consecutive Lok Sabha elections from the Raigarh constituency in 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014.
5.In 2014, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first term, he held the position of Union Minister of State for Steel and represented the Kunkuri constituency in Chhattisgarh.
6. He served as the state president of the BJP thrice in 2006, 2011 and 2020 to 2022.
Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023
- In the Chhattisgarh assembly elections, Vishnu Deo Sai emerged victorious from the Kunkuri Tribal seat in the Jashpur district. He defeated the sitting Congress MLA, Udit Minj, by a margin of over 25,000 votes.
- The Bharatiya Janata Party secured 54 seats in Chhattisgarh, while the Congress managed to win only 35 seats.
