Radha Raturi Makes History as Uttarakhand’s First Female Chief Secretary

In a groundbreaking move, senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Radha Raturi has been appointed as the first woman chief secretary of Uttarakhand. She replaces Sukhbir Singh Sandhu.

Radha Raturi’s Appointment Signifies a Landmark in Uttarakhand’s Administrative Evolution

Raturi’s appointment marks a significant milestone in Uttarakhand’s administrative landscape. With a career spanning back to the 1988 batch of the IAS, Raturi brings a wealth of experience to her new position.

Throughout her extensive administrative journey, Raturi has held pivotal roles in both undivided Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the latter of which was established in November 2000.

Notably, her husband, Anil Raturi, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, retired in November 2020 as the director general of police for Uttarakhand.

Raturi’s appointment as chief secretary not only underscores her own accomplishments but also signifies a significant step forward in gender equality and representation within Uttarakhand’s administrative sphere.
