PM Modi inaugurates Maharishi Valmiki International Airport at Ayodhya Dham
On December 30, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi officially opened the recently constructed Ayodhya Airport, which has been named as Maharishi Valmiki International Airport.
In a subsequent public address, the Prime Minister conveyed his satisfaction with the decision to name Ayodhya Airport in honor of Maharishi Valmiki. He emphasized that Maharishi Valmiki’s Ramayana serves as a path of knowledge connecting us to Shri Ram. The establishment of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in modern India will establish a connection to Ayodhya Dham and the newly constructed grand Ram temple.
Key facts on Maharishi Valmiki International Airport
During its initial phase, the airport is capable of accommodating 10 lakh passengers annually, and upon completion of the second phase, it is expected to cater to 60 lakh commuters each year.
The first phase of this state-of-the-art airport has been developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore.
The airport’s terminal building, covering an area of 6500 sqm, is equipped to serve approximately 10 lakh passengers annually.
The exterior of the Terminal Building reflects the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, while the interiors are adorned with local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram.
