Announcement of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Dates
The dates for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 have been announced. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has stated that the Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in seven phases, with voting taking place on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1 for the 544 seats.
The results will be announced on June 4.
The term of the 17th Lok Sabha will conclude on June 16, 2024.
Inclusion of Elderly Voters in Lok Sabha Elections 2024
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar highlighted the inclusion of elderly voters in the voter list, with 82 lakh voters aged over 85 years and 2.18 lakh voters aged over 100 years. He also mentioned the provision for home voting for voters over 85 years old.
Key Statistics for Lok Sabha Elections 2024
In the upcoming election, 970 million voters are expected to cast their votes.
- The election will be facilitated by 10.5 million polling stations, with 5.5 million Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) being utilized across the country.
Assembly Elections to Coincide with Lok Sabha Elections in Four States
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has announced that along with the general elections, there will also be assembly elections in 4 states. These states include Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Phase wise Schedule
The voting for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be conducted in 7 phases over a total of 43 days.
Here is the voting schedule for the Lok Sabha Elections:
1. Phase 1: Voting will take place on April 19th.
- There will be voting on 102 seats across 21 states.
2. Phase 2: Voting will be held on April 26th.
- There will be voting on 89 seats across 13 states.
3. Phase 3: Voting is scheduled for May 7th.
- There will be voting on 94 seats across 12 states.
4. Phase 4: Voting will take place on May 13th.
- There will be voting on 96 seats across 10 states.
5. Phase 5: Voting is scheduled for May 20th.
- There will be voting on 49 seats across 8 states.
6. Phase 6: Voting will be held on May 25th.
- There will be voting on 57 seats across 7 states.
7. Phase 7: Voting is scheduled for June 1st.
- There will be voting on 57 seats across 8 states.
