Australia has again won the World Cup by defeating India in the final of the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup. This time, Australia beat India by 79 runs in the final of Under 19 World Cup 2024 to lift the trophy fourth time. The final was played at Willowmoore Park, Benoni, in South Africa.

Before this, Australia had won the U19 ODI World Cup title in 1988, 2002 and 2010.

Australia had set the target of 253 runs for India in the final of U 19 World Cup 2024

The Australian bowling unit dismantled the Indian batting order, dismissing them for 174 runs in less than 44 overs and won the final with 79 runs.

  • Mahli Beardman put on an outstanding display, taking 3 wickets for only 15 runs and earning the prestigious ‘Player of the match’ title.

India missed the chance to lift the U19 World Cup title for sixth time

India, the defending champions of the U19 World Cup, have clinched the title five times: in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018, and 2022.

7. Player of the tournament – South Africa’s Kwena Maphaka was named player of the tournament as he took highest 21 wickets in the U19 World Cup 2024.
