Bhajanlal Sharma is the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan
Bhajanlal Sharma will be the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan. He serves as the state general secretary of the BJP and is an MLA from Sanganer. Notably, Bhajanlal Sharma is a first-time MLA and is assuming the role of Chief Minister for the first time as well. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place on December 15.
His name was announced on 12 December. The CM-designate’s name was suggested at the meeting by the former chief minister, Vasundhara Raje, who was also seen as a potential candidate for the top position.
There will be two Deputy CMs in the state: Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa.
- Diya Kumari is an MLA from Vidyadharnagar, and Bairwa is an MLA from the Dudu seat.
Assembly Speaker
Ajmer North MLA Vasudev Devnani, who served as the Education Minister in the previous Vasundhara Raje government, will assume the role of the new Assembly Speaker.

- The BJP fielded him as a candidate for the first time in the elections, selecting the safe seat of Sanganer in Jaipur.

Sanganer is a stronghold for the BJP, and due to his significant role in the organization, Bhajanlal Sharma has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Chief Minister’s post.”
Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023
Bhajanlal Sharma emerged victorious in the recently concluded elections from the Sanganer assembly seat, defeating Congress’s Pushpendra Bhardwaj with a margin of over 48,081 votes.
- The BJP secured victory in 115 out of the 199 contested seats, while the Congress trailed behind in a distant second with 69 seats.
