17-year-old Kafi from Chandigarh has become an inspiration for everyone with her remarkable determination and hard work. She scored an impressive 95.6% in her CBSE Class 12 board exams.
What makes her story even more incredible is that Kafi lost her eyesight at the age of three after an acid attack during a family dispute. A neighbor threw acid on her, leaving her permanently blind.
CBSE Class 12 Results 2025 has been declared on May 13. Students can now check their results on the official websites — cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and digilocker.gov.in.
Acid Attack Survivor Kafi Scores 95.6% in Class 12
Studied with the Help of Braille and Audiobooks
- After a long treatment journey, Kafi enrolled at the Institute for the Blind in Chandigarh.
- Originally from Hisar, Haryana, she studied using Braille and audiobooks.
Choosing Humanities as her stream, she dedicated 2 to 3 hours every day to her studies, ultimately achieving outstanding results.
Kaafi’s dream is to become an IAS officer
Kafi now dreams of cracking the UPSC exam and becoming an IAS officer.
Her father, Pawan, works as a peon at the Haryana Secretariat, and her mother, Suman, is a homemaker.
- Both parents studied only up to Class 5, but they have been pillars of support and motivation for Kafi throughout her journey.
- After her treatment was complete, she resumed her education directly from Class 2 to 6.
- She had also excelled in her Class 10 board exams, scoring 95.2%.
Girls Outperform Boys Again This Year
This year, over 93% of students passed the CBSE Class 10 exams, while the pass percentage for Class 12 stood at 88.39%. As seen in previous years, girls once again outshined boys in academic performance.
Kafi’s story is a powerful reminder that with determination and support, no obstacle is too big to overcome.
