U.S. Air Force Officer Madison Marsh becomes Miss America 2024
Madison Marsh, a 22-year-old Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and a graduate student in the public policy program at the Harvard Kennedy School, was crowned the Miss America 2024 on January 15 in Orlando, Florida. Ellie Breaux of Texas secured the position of first runner-up in the beauty pageant.
She made history by becoming the first active-duty officer to wear the Miss America crown.
Madison Marsh Secures Victory in Miss America Pageant Amongst Strong Competition
Madison Marsh emerged victorious in the Miss America pageant, surpassing 51 contestants representing all 50 U.S. states, including the District of Columbia.
Madison claimed the prestigious Miss America crown, while Ellie Breaux attained the position of first runner-up, Cydney Bridges of Indiana secured the second runner-up spot, Mallory Hudson of Kentucky earned the third runner-up position, and Caroline Parente of Rhode Island achieved the title of fourth runner-up.
Madison Marsh’s Poignant Responses in the Miss America Questionnaire Round
During the questionnaire round of the Miss America competition, Madison was asked about her aspirations as Miss America.

Madison also touched upon the personal aspect of her journey, mentioning her mother’s passing due to pancreatic cancer in 2018. This tragic loss inspired Madison to establish the Whitney Marsh Foundation, dedicated to raising funds for cancer research.
Madison won the title of Miss Colorado 2023
Furthermore, Madison secured the title of Miss Colorado the previous year.
- In 2023, she graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Since a young age, Marsh harbored the aspiration to become a pilot. At the age of 13, her parents enrolled her in a space camp, providing her with the opportunity to meet astronauts and fighter pilots.
