Maharashtra Farmer Puts Organs on Sale to Repay Debt, Heartbreaking Video Goes Viral
In a desperate attempt to highlight his financial crisis, a distressed farmer from Maharashtra’s Washim took an extreme step—offering his organs for sale to clear his mounting debt.
Frustrated by the government’s failure to deliver on its loan waiver promise, Satish Idole, a resident of Adoli village, staged a dramatic protest in a crowded market, carrying a placard listing prices for his body parts.

The sight of a farmer resorting to such an extreme measure quickly drew a crowd, with shocked onlookers stopping to read his message.
Government Promises Broken, Farmer Left Helpless
Idole’s protest was aimed at the Mahayuti government led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, which had assured farmers of a loan waiver before the elections but later insisted that they must repay their debts on their own. Feeling abandoned, Idole took his plea to the district collector’s office, submitting a letter addressed to the CM, urging the government to fulfill its commitment.
With only two acres of land, Idole had borrowed money from Maharashtra Bank but found himself trapped in debt due to poor crop returns. With no way out, he admitted that suicide seemed like his only option if his plea went unheard.

His protest comes amid recent remarks by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who reiterated that farmers must bear their own financial burdens and that the government would not waive loans. Expressing his frustration, Idole criticized the government’s stance, saying, “They promised to clear the 7/12 records, but now they demand repayment. Farmers are deceived. We still don’t get fair prices for our crops.”
A Reflection of Farmers’ Struggles
Idole’s heartbreaking protest sheds light on the dire situation of farmers in Maharashtra, who continue to struggle with low crop prices, mounting debts, and unfulfilled promises.
As the video sparks nationwide concern, will the government finally listen to the plight of farmers?
