The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 results are in, revealing that neither of the national parties, BJP or Congress, has clinched the majority of seats to form the government. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its coalition partners in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have secured a total of 293 seats. This substantial majority ensures their ability to establish the government, with Narendra Modi set to assume the position of Prime Minister for a third consecutive term.

1. Shankar Lalwani, the incumbent BJP Member of Parliament from Indore, secured a historic victory, achieving a record margin of 11,75,092 votes.

  • This significant achievement comes in the backdrop of a noteworthy occurrence, as the ‘none of the above’ (NOTA) option garnered a record-breaking 2.18 lakh votes in the Lok Sabha elections.
  • A BJP official asserted that Lalwani’s victory margin is likely the largest in the electoral history of the country.

2. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and a prominent BJP leader, secured victory in the Vidisha constituency, defeating Congress candidate Pratap Bhanu Sharma by a substantial margin of 8,21,408 votes.

3. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, clinched victory in Gandhinagar with an impressive margin exceeding 7.4 lakh votes.

  • His opponent was Sonal Ramanbhai Patel from the Indian National Congress.

4. CR Patil of Navsari, Gujarat, known for his consistent electoral success, surpasses his previous margin record by leading with a substantial 7,67,000 votes.

5. Congress’s Rakibul Hussain also emerges ahead in Dhubri, Assam, with a lead exceeding 7,36,000 votes.

6. Rahul Gandhi, representing Raebareli and Wayanad, surpasses his mother Sonia Gandhi’s victory margin in Raebareli, securing wins by over 3,50,000 votes in each seat.

Other Notable Leads

In other significant leads, Hemang Joshi of the BJP commands a lead of over 5,82,000 votes in Vadodara, while Mahesh Sharma leads by 5,57,000 in Noida.
