Azerbaijan is set to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, known as COP29, in 2024. The event is scheduled to take place in November 11 to 22 in 2024.
The confirmation of Azerbaijan’s host status for COP29 was announced during the plenary session of COP28 on December 11, following collective support from other Eastern European countries.
Azerbaijan has affirmed its commitment to the 2015 Paris Agreement, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent by 2030 and further decrease them to 40 percent by 2050.
