You must be aware of Israel’s famous air defense system ‘Iron Dome’ or ‘David’s Sling’, which is called an advanced missile shield.

Whether it is a missile attack from Iran, rockets fired by Hamas or drones of Houthi rebels, as soon as they enter Israeli airspace, they are destroyed in the air with the help of these automated defense systems.

Indian Air Force prevented a major attack

On Wednesday (7th May) night, to take revenge of India’s Operation Sindoor, Pakistan tried to target military bases located in many cities of India. But India’s air defense system S-400 ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ missile system destroyed all the Pakistani drones attacks, missiles in the air itself.

India gave a strong reply in retaliation

After foiling the attack attempt, India also retaliated immediately. The Indian Army attacked Pakistan’s air defense system through Harpy drone. In this attack, the radar system located in Lahore was completely destroyed.

The S-400 air defense system is a powerful missile system capable of destroying enemy fighter aircraft, missiles and drones in the air. This system has been specially deployed to deal with air threats.

Key features of S-400 air defense system

  • it works from a range of 40 to 400 kilometers,
  • it can track and destroy multiple targets simultaneously,
  • it works easily even in temperatures of -50 to -70 degrees Celsius,
  • it cannot be easily caught, making it even more dangerous for the enemy,
  • it can shoot down targets flying at an altitude of 100 to 40,000 feet,
  • it has missiles of four different ranges – 40, 100, 200 and 400 kilometers,
  • it can track 36 targets and fire 72 missiles at a time.

Note:

  • India had signed an S-400 deal with Russia in 2018, under which three regiments have been received so far. Two more regiments are yet to come, which India hopes to get by 2026.
  • It has been made by Russia’s Almaz-Antey company.

India’s weapon – Harpy Drone

Harpy drone is a special drone made by Israel Aerospace Industries.

It is a loitering munition, that is, it monitors while flying in the enemy’s territory and attacks as soon as the target is seen.

Special features of Harpy drone:

  • it can fly continuously for 9 hours.
  • it can attack at a distance of up to 1000 kilometers,
  • it attacks stealthily by dodging the enemy’s radar,
  • it is equipped with modern technologies like electro-optical, infrared and CCD cameras.

Conclusion
This attack by Pakistan failed because India foiled the enemy’s intentions in time with the help of modern and deadly missile systems like S-400.
