Sahitya Akademi Awards 2023 Check Winners List

The Sahitya Akademi has unveiled its annual Sahitya Akademi Awards for 2023 across 24 languages. A total of 9 poetry books, 6 novels, 5 short story collections, 3 essays, and 1 literary study have been selected as winners for the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2023.

These awards recognize outstanding works of literature in various Indian languages, including poetry, fiction, drama, and literary criticism.

These awards, endorsed by distinguished jury members representing 24 Indian languages, received approval from the Executive Board of the Sahitya Akademi during its meeting, chaired by Sri Madhav Kaushik, President of the Sahitya Akademi.

Rajasekaran, a Tamil writer, has been honored for his novel “Neervazhi Padooum,” while Patanjali Sastry from Telugu has received recognition for his collection of short stories. Additionally, EV Ramakrishnan, a Malayalam writer, has been awarded for his literary study titled “Malayala Novelinte Deshakalangal.”

The awards are given in 24 Indian languages, including Hindi, English, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, Assamese, and others.

For Hindi Novel – Sanjeev is set to receive the Sahitya Akademi Award for his Hindi novel titled “Mujhe Pahachaano”.

For English Novel – Neelam Saran Gour will be honored with the award for her English novelRequiem in Raga Janki.”

Presentation of Sahitya Akademi Awards for 2023

The Sahitya Akademi Awards for 2023 will be presented in a ceremony scheduled for March 12, 2024, at Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi.

Each awardee will receive the honor in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper plaque, a shawl, and a monetary prize of Rs. 1,00,000. The presentation function will be a significant event where the literary achievements of the recipients will be acknowledged and celebrated.
